as for the slimming down my chances part - I started off my first two years of college with a 0.69gpa and a 1.49 gpa (mainly withdrawals and a couple of F's) - not really looking to give a sob story - I think everyone goes through stuff in life - I think in ways it has made me the man I am today, and is the main reason I entered this profession - I was taking my family members out of a pretty stressful situation in my household, and suddenly was forced to be a bread maker at the age of 18 - working 3 jobs - education wasn't even in my thought process - I ended up taking a couple of years off to work and saving up once I realized this just wasn't working - coming back to school after a couple of years (I am 24 now) - I ended up with a 3.4 gpa for the last two years and am looking to slam out a 4.0 this year.
Overall it looks like this 0.69 - 1.49 - gap year - gap year - 3.33 - 3.47 - (hopefully 4.0 this year)
I am looking at a 2.47 sGPA and a 3.10GPA (the 5 F's I had my freshman year being the main things bringing it down) by the time I graduate
Classes I am taking this year are Microbio - Biochem 1+2 - Anatomy - Phys - hoping to get A's in all of them
A few other things to take into consideration - I am President of my Pre-Dent Organization, created a homeless shelter awareness effort at our campus, founded an outreach project in our inner cities (perhaps what I am most proud of in my life so far), I hate to mention I am a black man because that seemingly makes people skew data, and over chance admittance %'s, but I am a URM - again please be honest with me as I know people overplay admittance with this factor - I just want honesty.
So, what are thoughts? Suggestions? What are my chances? Where should I apply besides my state school? Should I even apply? Please be 100% real back with me
