So I am very curious about how a neuropsychologist makes an ADHD diagnosis and I was hoping you all can answer some questions for me.
I understand that a range of tests (IQ, achievements, attention) are given, but what kind of trends does someone with ADHD typically have on those tests? (low/high IQ, low/high achievements, under timed vs untimed conditions, etc.?)
Is there any DSM factor to the diagnosis, or is DSM a completely different approach?
Finally, does this type of testing concretely diagnose ADHD or is it more of a gauge to the intellectual capability of an individual in comparison to norm?
Thanks
