Help deciding where to apply? 3.55 cGPA, 3.51 sGPA, 517 MCAT

mardi 20 octobre 2015

Hi. I'm aware compared to most people on here, my stats are fairly low. However, the reason for the drop in my GPA is taking an immunology class when I was seriously ill (got injured and was so sick I could barely attend class). At the time, I thought I was going to stick with computer science as my major and just take the hit with the D and be an engineer. However, I changed my mind after that semester and pulled through with 4.0s. That D and C I got are really affecting my GPA, and I don't think there is much hope in them taking that into account (although I have documentation of being severely injured and as a result ill from an accident while doing gymnastics). Where should I apply to?

Edit Another note: I am white, from California, will be taking a year and a half off before applying, and I will be working at a tech company during the application process. I have received honors (Deans list, Tau Beta Pi, etc) and I am involved heavily in athletics (figure skating/gymnastics), and I have done numerous volunteer activities and received national accolades for these volunteer roles. I have done research my entire time in college, including other universities. I have volunteered abroad as well. I am currently shadowing a doctor and volunteering at a hospital, too. I am involved in leadership roles with clubs on campus. I have initial internships in computer science companies (since I thought I would be doing computer engineering but had a change of heart).
