Here we go..
Expanding upon the title of the post, I took the mcat last summer and received a 17 (yes I know it's absolutely ridiculous that I scored that low but a wave of life challenging events occurred during my studies last summer). My break down for the 2015 mcat that I received today went as followed: 123-126-125-129, 503 total. I hope there is an emphasis on psych and the cars section!
My extracurricular a include extensive shadowing hours (450+) -rural and urban, tutoring underprivileged immigrant youth in English, clinic volunteering, volunteer Basketball coach for my mosques youth basketball team, and other activities that I'm sure I've forgotten to list off the top of my head.
I have also worked continuously through my undergrad and during my mcat studies in respectable positions that require leadership (I am currently a property manager of a small real estate company). I also founded a business (a clothing line that has since expanded significantly) with a friend, and also run a small in house investment business that requires me to travel frequently and communicate with many individuals!
Lastly, although I'm certain I have left a few things out, I have personally overcome a chronic disease through holistic methods. I also assist others in developing a lifestyle overhaul and treatment regimen to alleviate those afflicted with the goal of ultimately healing them. My disease and these experiences have had the greatest influence on my decision to pursue an osteopathic education. I apologize for the long post but I wanted others who are better at this to have a decent picture in order to give me a realistic evaluation of where I may stand. I'm also an Ohio resident.
The school's I applied to:
OUHCOM
LECOM
KYCOM
MUCOM
LMUDCOM
DMUCOM
VCOM
ATSU-SOMA
WVSOM
NSUCOM
CUSOM
Any other suggestions?
I've received secondaries I believe from all but one of them, in which the school was waiting for my 9/12 mcat.
Thanks for giving this post a look!
Edit: also a significant upward trend, nothing lower than a 3.7 average for my last 2 years with a 4.0 semester in core science/major classes! @Goro , I would really appreciate your input.
