I think business is the best major for pre-health. See most people major in science or engineering and that's a bad idea because what if you don't get in? What is you're back up? See most jobs for science or engineering can be outsourced to a foreign country easily. But not business assuming it is from a solid business undergrad.
I was talking to my fiancee brother who a senior and he was talking about chemical engineering/pre-med. I said if you don't get in then what? I said science is a bad backup major, but it all depends. Do you want your job to go to China or do you want to be the one sending the jobs to China? Do you want to work under a boss or do you want to be the boss of the Engineers and Scientist.
Personally I would have no problem sending jobs to India. In fact I could send thousands of jobs overseas and lose any sleep.
Because it's survival of the fittest. If you have really good social skills and really high IQ, then you can go into medicine, dentistry or business and make a lot of money.
Unfortunately, if don't have good social skills, like Aspurgers, then you will probably wash out of clinical or residency. Then only jobs you will be good for won't have any job security.
Anyways I will see you guys around. I am going to apply to schools that have a good Dental/top-MBA program like Harvard and Penn and do a joint MBA/DDS program or MBA/MD. I haven't decided.
