1. Do not become a re-applicant when the numbers on the chart put you at a significantly low chance of acceptance.
2. Beef up your EC, do something passionate and unique that stands out, so your application is not lost in the thousands that have the same.
3. Do not rush through any part of the re-building process, otherwise you put yourself at risk of scrutiny and doubt on the admissions end.
4. MDs will screen you out, so get GPA up so they dont do that. Your best bet is to get that GPA (especially work on science) as high as you can make it. Def retake the classes since you are keeping DO an option.
5. Once you have retaken classes and beefed up your EC, come back and check with SDN if SMP is good for you because it will depend on the next step.
6. Gotta get out of the 2 slump and into the 3s.
7. Not sure why you took the MCAT, considering it times out after 2 years, despite low GPA. Is it because SMP required it as part of admissions ?
It would have been so much better to try to take it a little closer to the application cycle that way you can ride on the score for two years in case first good year of application cycle doesnt work out.
8. Keep working hard, best of luck in your spring classes !
