Just wanted some of your ideas on how much experience you would need to gain until you felt yourself competent to open your own practice?
One vet owner I shadowed said his biggest regret was waiting 20 years to start a practice and stated he could have done so 2 years after graduating. His tip was to work for a very busy clinic such as a charity hospital and work as many shifts as possible so you see as many cases as possible.
I'm aware the answer to this question is wholly dependent on your experience, case load and exposure during your time as a veterinarian. Just want to ask if you have any tips on what sort of work experience you should try to attain before starting your own clinic.
Thanks for your time guys.
