Do People Get The BYU's Mixed Up

I was talking to a person from Temple dental school the other day he said they had a great dental school student from BYU. I talked to him about Utah and he said no this guy from Idaho. Do people get it mixed up that easily? I mean nobody gets UC-Berkley and UCLA mixed up, but they get BYU-Provo and BYU-Idaho mixed up. What gives?
